On the weekend of September 9th-11th, the City of Arvada hosted its annual Harvest Festival. The theme for this year was The Ultimate Superhero Showcase. The Harvest Festival boasts a parade, live bands, dozens of booths, food carts, and activities for the kids. Many schools, businesses, and clubs are featured in the parade every year, including Faith’s own cheerleaders. Some of the Faith exchange students, including Elvi Di and Sherry Li, were at the Arvada Sister Cities International booth, writing down visitors’ names in Chinese. Many children walked around the parade holding white Faith Christian balloons. Small-town events like the Harvest Festival are becoming more rare, and they are a good opportunity for people to connect with their neighbors and community organizations.
