The Faith Eagles track and field team headed into their second meet with a bang on Saturday, March 11 at the Columbine Invite. The team did very well, representing the school and earning many placings. In typical fashion, Sarah Yocum won the 200 meter dash and all three hurdle events: the one hundred, two hundred, and three hundred hurdles. The girls eight hundred relay, including Sophie Baldwin, Jessica Blahnik, Shannon King, and Sarah Yocum began with a win as well. Cole Sprout edged out his opponents in a close race of the 3200. Shannon King snatched a second in the eight hundred, and the girls as a whole received third out of twenty-two teams, beating all the other 3A teams. Peyton Walter got fifth in three hundred hurdles and sixth in 100 hundred hurdles. Jessica Blahnik got fourth in the triple jump and eighth in long jump. Sophie Baldwin had a second in triple jump and a seventh in long jump. Ben Rockwell had an eighth place finish in the 300 hurdles. Peyton Walter said, “The throwers started the season well, along with all the jumpers, runners, and relay teams.” Overall, well done track and field competitors, and good luck to you in the future. Go Eagles!
