USP NCAA BASKETBALL: SELECTION SUNDAY-NORTHWESTERN S BKC USA IL

USA Today Sports

For many sports fans, right now is the most wonderful time of year. College basketball’s most exciting part of the season occurs in mid-March to early April. It is the NCAA tournament that is one of the most tuned-in events of the year. Sunday, March 13, the teams were drawn in one of the least controversial Selection Sundays that have happened in a while. March Madness begins Tuesday night, as the first four games begin, and it goes into Wednesday. On Thursday, the round of sixty-four begins. There will be sixteen games on Thursday and Wednesday. For many, the best part of March Madness is filling out brackets and competing with friends and families. The tradition of predicting the outcome of the tournament has lasted for many years. Guessing correctly can earn a winner some prizes, but for many friends, one of the best perks is bragging rights that you can hold for a whole year. Some teams in the tournament, such as Northwestern University, are getting their first-ever tournament bid in school history. Their coach, Chris Collins, was overwhelmed with emotion after getting his team’s first NCAA tournament. According to The Denver Post, Chris Collins said, “To see all of this, it gets you emotional because these are the things we all dreamed of.” Northwestern will play on Thursday at 2:30 MT. In the NCAA tournament, upsets are inevitable. One team worse than a better team will rise. For those teams, the players will cherish those moments that they will never forget. Those teams will be revealed soon.
