In the 2016 U.S. presidential election season, one of the most important factors for voters was who would be filling the open Supreme Court Justice spots. Many Christians found it important to vote for the candidate who would most likely nominate justices who would best represent Christian values. This may be partly due to the wake-up call in 2015 for many Christians when the Supreme Court legalized gay marriage. Now, President Trump has been elected, and he has nominated his first Supreme Court Justice. An important part of nominating someone is making sure that he or she will be confirmed through the Senate. President Trump feels that Neil Gorsuch, Colorado native, is the man to do just that. Gorsuch is currently serving the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit. He has taught at the University of Colorado since 2012 as an adjunct professor, and he lives in Boulder. Gorsuch is likely to be confirmed. As of April 3rd, a third Democratic senator has vowed to approve Neil Gorsuch.
