What made you want to be a student body chaplain?

“I wanted to be a student body chaplain because I really wanted to be in a role in our school where I can be a leader for the student body, as well as come alongside them and truly get to know them better, encourage them in everyday life, serve God and them in every way I can, and encourage them in their walk with Jesus Christ. I really felt God placing this desire on my heart to serve Him and my fellow students. Also, after high school, I am hoping to become a firefighter and chaplain in the Fire Department, so I thought this would be a great experience for me to find out what a chaplain’s responsibilities and duties are in service to God and others.”

What does it mean for you to be a student body chaplain?

“I see being a student body chaplain as being a true honor, and I am so grateful to God for giving me the desire and opportunity to serve Him and my fellow students in this capacity. I see being a student body chaplain as a position of much responsibility and leadership, and as a person who is willing and available to pray with, encourage or listen to others, and as a person to talk with when anyone is seeking support or advice. I truly believe that a student body chaplain needs to have a servant’s heart because this role is dedicated to serving Go and your fellow students. Also, I see being a student body chaplain as being a person who knows that they don’t have everything together in their own lives, but regardless, have faith in God and trust Him to use them just how they are to serve and glorify Him.”

What is your favorite part about being a student body chaplain?

“My favorite part about being a student body chaplain is having the opportunity to serve my friends and fellow classmates whenever they are in need of anything, whether it be prayer, encouragement, or just somebody to talk with. Also, I am glad to be a person who is there to support others when nobody else will. I have been truly blessed by God in my life, and I truly want to serve Him and others in everything I do. God has already blessed me in so many different ways through being a student body chaplain this year.”
